How to Install Google Plays Store (GMS) on Huawei Y7p

Huawei Y7p was released few months back without Google Play Store or Google Play Services or better still GMS; whichever one you call it. Therefore, on this post, I will be teaching how you can be able to install Google Play store on your new Huawei Y7p.

Huawei Y7p comes with a 6.39 inches screen display with 720 x 1560 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 ratio and 269 ppi density. It equally comes with Android 9.0 (Pie), EMUI 9 but then with no Google Play Services which is a set back for many of us who makes use of google product a lot.

Aside that, the phone comes with Kirin 710F (12 nm) Chipset, Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. There is 48 MP, f/1.8, 27mm (wide), 1/2.0″, 0.8µm, PDAF, 8 MP, f/2.4, (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm and 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) triple rear camera and 8 MP, f/2.0 front camera coupled with 4GB/64GB internal storage that can be expanded with microSDXC.

How to Install Google Plays Store (GMS) on Huawei Y7p

JANUARY 2021 UPDATE: Having explained some of the interesting Huawei Y7p specifications, its to dive in to the tutorial on how you can successfully download and install google play store on your mobile phone. Because I’m certain that the reason why you are reading this post is because you seriously need help on how to do so. Therefore, you are welcome. Feel free and carefully read the steps below before you start following them.

It interest me to tell you that this is not the first time I’ve done this kind of tutorial, I have done the same tutorial on Huawei Y6P, P40 Pro, Nova 7i, Honor X10 5G, Huawei Y8p, and Matepad Pro 5G. You can check them out or share it to your friends that are using any of the phones.

Now, to install google playstore on your Huawei Y7p

• Click this link > LINK HERE< to download the required app on your Huawei phone
• After downloading it, install the app on your phone
• Allow all permissions and watch the short video clip the app will show you
• After the video finish showing, you will see google play store on your screen
• Tap on it 
• Sign in using your Google account
• After you are signed in, google playstore will start working without any errors on your Huawei phone
• You can now install any google apps you wish
• If you want to be getting notifications on the apps, ensure the dual space app is working in the background
• Now go to your phone settings, app, app, scroll down and find dual space
• Tap on it, tap on power usage details, tap on launch settings, and disable manage automatically

If the first method above did not work, then try this method below. However, to install google play services on Huawei Y7p, you are required to have. NOTE THAT THIS METHOD MAY NOT WORK.

• Laptop/PC
• USB to OTG Drive
• USB Cable
• Huawei Y7p
• Internet Access

Having gotten all that, the first thing to do is to go to your phone settings and enable to install apps from unknown source and then check if your phone system is up to date. If it is up to date, then you can go ahead and update it before you proceed with the procedure. But if it is up to date then ignore.

The next thing thing to do is to download the Huawei Y7p file from the link HERE. Download it to your Laptop or PC. After you have down so, Don’t extract the files you have download, just copy them to your OTG USB drive. Now connect your OTG to your Huawei Y7p. Go to your phone file manager, click on USB or external storage and and locate the file you copied to the OTG. Now extract the zip files to current directory. Wait for it to finish extracting.

Now click on Y7p, long click on Huawei for some seconds and copy the files. Now go to your phone settings, look for backup & restore, click on external storage, click on USB Storage now click on restore from backup and click restore and put a0000000 as the password and allow it to restore.

Now go to your home screen, you will see a large G purple Icon on your home screen click on it, click on the blue Chinese phrase down and activate the app. Having done this, you are 89% successful in installing Google Play services on Huawei Y7p.

Now go back to your file manager, to those files you extracted from your OTG, tap on Y7p, click on Huawei files and install the first 1 – 6 apps you see there (App 1 to App 6). Just install them. Don’t open them yet.

Now tat you have finish installing the apps, go back to your home screen , go to your phone settings, click on Accounts, click on google  and sign in with your google accounts. After you successfully signed in, go back to your to the files in your OTG and install the 7th, and the 9th app there. Do not install the 8th App yet.

Now go back to your home screen, locate the playstore icon there and click on it. If you encounter any error, then don’t panic. What you need to do is to your phone settings, click on account, click on google and sign in again with your google account.

Now go to your phone settings, go to apps, go to apps again and click on the three dots you see at the right top side of your phone, tap on show system process click on search and type google there, now click on google play services click on uninstall and uninstall it.

Now go to to those files you extracted from your OTG USB, tap on Y7p, click on Huawei files, click on instal file and install the 8th App there. The one you skipped earlier. Now go back to your home screen and click on Playstore. It will now open without errors.

To stop receiving the annoying notification from google, you can easily disable notifications from those apps or better still go to your phone settings, click on apps, search for the google apps you installed and disable notifications on it.
