WhatsApp has today rolled out the feature to send and receive money using WhatsApp in Brazil. That is to say that WhatsApp users in Brazil can now send or transfer and receive money via WhatsApp while they chat with their family, their friends and their loved ones.
WhatsApp Payment is powered by Facebook Pay. Meaning that with your WhatsApp Account, you can easily and successfully send money to anyone securely without having to loose anything. The question is why?
The reason is not far fetched. The reason why WhatsApp rolled out WhatsApp Payment first to Brazil could be because of the massive WhatsApp users in Brazil. Aside India, WhatsApp has over 120 million users in Brazil. So rolling out this feature for them is like making them to love the app the more.
Also if we recall, we will remember years back, in 2018 when WhatsApp rolled out WhatsApp Payment in India. But it was for testing purposes. The feature was later not rolled out for everyone in India for reason well known to WhatsApp. For Brazil, WhatsApp indeed rolled out the feature for WhatsApp Brazil users. They might also roll out the feature for more other countries in the future but as it is now, the feature solely belongs to WhatsApp for Brazil only.

WhatsApp payment supports both Visa and Mastercard debit and credit card. Please note that more bank partners such as Cielo will join in the future.
What you need to do is to create a six (6) digit pin or fingerprint to complete WhatsApp payment. The secret pin will be used before the transaction is completed so that your friend cannot secretly use your WhatsApp and card to make payment without your knowledge. In that case, I will advice you choose only the six digit pin because it is more secure than the fingerprint.
WhatsApp Payment is free for individuals but not free for business owners. That is to say that if you are using a business account, receiving the money from WhatsApp won’t be free. They will charge a little token. What I’m saying is that, WhatsApp payment doesn’t attract a charge when you send or receive money save for businesses that will have to pay a processing fee to receive payments from their customers.
