That notification saying an Android update is ready can be surprisingly easy to ignore. Maybe your phone works perfectly well, you are short on time, or you simply do not feel excited about downloading several gigabytes of software.
But Android Updates do much more than change icons or introduce new features. They can patch security vulnerabilities, modify the way apps behave, improve system components, and sometimes temporarily affect battery life while the phone adjusts to new software.
That does not mean every update will dramatically transform your device. In many cases, the changes happen quietly in the background.
